J. D. C. Bytco

Jairam Dahya Chauhan - Bytco better known by name J. D. C. Bytco (1885–1978) was a reputed railway and civil contractor and industrialist based at Nasik. His native village was Kumbharia in Kutch, Gujarat and he belonged to KGK Community.[1][2]

His father Dahya Vira Chauhan was also a railway contractor; Jayram Dahya carried on his father's legacy as a railway contractor and later transformed himself into an industrialist, who founded J. D. Bytco Limited, an oral health-care & herbal product manufacturing company.[3] He ventured in Hotel industry, founded Cinema Halls and was one of the top Industrialist of Nasik at one point of time.[1][2][4]A main square of Nashik is known by name of Bytco Point, after him.[5]

In later years of his life, he gave away much of his wealth in to charities. He founded the Muktidham temple complex at Nashik Road, which has a replica of twelve Jyotirlingas within its temple complex and is one of the major tourist attractions of the town.[6][7][1][2]Further, he also donated land and money to start D. D. Bytco Higher Secondary School and J. D. Bytco Commerce & Science Collage & J.D.C. Bytco Institute of Management & Higher Studies in Nashik.[8][9][10][11][2]He also donated money to start a Hospital, now named Jairam Hospital, which is located in Nasik Road near Muktidham temple.[12]
